This weekend movie fans can scratch their comedy itch on the release of Thank You, an Anees Bazmee comedy all about adultery. The film is a bit of a take off on Bazmee’s earlier hit No Entry, a Salman Khan variant where Akshay Kumar is Thank You’s hero.
Thank You, if you read all the reviews, might be more appropriately titled “No Thank You” if critics in India were taken more seriously. But, just the idea of Akshay Kumar as a marriage therapist seems funny enough to me to carry the first hour of this flick. Which is what is needed according to most – the film does drag a bit at the start. Kumar’s intricate plans to put three wayward marriages back on course ends up turning into the obvious suggested frolic. The second half of the film redeems itself and the movie goer.
